Today's trend: Instagram-worthy total experiences
At Senta we spot the latest trends in sensory customer experience. One of the most remarkable trends is our need for total experiences in which we can completely lose ourselves. Experience is hot, the more complete, the better!
However, experience alone is not enough; this experience should of course be shared on social media. Many places are even set up to take the perfect Instagram shot. Take, for example, the wildly popular The Street Food Club in Utrecht, or the recently opened Rum Club in the same city. These trendy spots are arranged over the top in such a way that you can completely lose yourself in them and imagine yourself in another world. In every corner you will find a surprise and an Instagram-worthy scene. Hotspots like these are popping up everywhere and are more popular than ever.
Not only the hospitality industry, but also museums have picked up on this trend. The Wondr museum was recently opened with 15 different experience rooms, each more surprising than the next. Creating your own perfect picture is central here. "The purpose of this experience is that you go from 2D to 3D, that you can join in with the picture itself and that you blend in with the painting," said Sarah Mendes, the museum's founder.
Does this hyper experience only serve to tell each other about it via social media? (fortunately) not always. For example, the new Doloris museum in Tilburg has taken the hyper experience concept to a new level. A complete 'Meta Maze' was created here in which the visitor walks, clambers, climbs and slides through the various sensory art spaces. And the special thing is: this experience is completely free of digital devices. You have to leave not only your phone, but even your watch in the safe at the entrance. Everything to better experience the immersive experience!
