Sensory Pleasures

Play with your product on the sensory pleasures of your customer group

Some habits or actions are so satisfying that we can't get enough of them. We call this Sensory Pleasures; sensory stimuli that give us a sense of contentment or satisfaction. This phenomenon is visible in more and more places. For example, the YouTube channel Sand Tagious has many popular videos of 'sand cutting'; cutting sand sculptures into flawless slices:

But other senses such as hearing, feeling, tasting and smelling can also provide Sensory Pleasures. What are the Sensory Pleasures of Senta employees?

  • Dennis: "When the jar of peanut butter is finished, I always want to scrape it as cleanly as possible with the knife"
  • Boudewijn: "I always have to place the labels of bottles to the front. And the pusher in a glass must be above the ice, and not below it."
  • Désirée: "I recently bought a super soft jacket, and when I'm wearing it I can't stop feeling it."
  • Femke: "I always tend to remove the foil from Easter eggs as neatly as possible and then smooth it out"
  • Amber: "When I eat Smarties, I tend to sort them by colour first and then eat them."
  • Denise: "With a new Nutella package I always try to remove the foil as neatly as possible. Really nice when that works!"
  • Merit: "When I'm walking down the street and I have a Labello in my jacket pocket, I'm constantly clicking it in my pocket."

When you, as a brand, respond to the sensory pleasures of your target group, you can automatically count on a lot of commitment. Users no longer see your product as a user product, but really as a moment of happiness!
